PRIORITIES
Our budget reflects our values, and I believe sustainable public services require pragmatic fiscal stewardship. Healdsburg runs a healthy budget thanks to years of prudent leadership, and I firmly support transparency and community engagement in the budgeting process to balance our needs today with the uncertainties of tomorrow.
We can’t predict the next wildfire or evacuation, but we can prepare together as good neighbors. I’ll prioritize wildfire fuel reduction, better emergency communications, neighborhood readiness in all five districts, and new tools and mental health resources for our dedicated first responders and public safety officers.
You deserve infrastructure you can rely on that makes everyday life easier, safer, and better prepared for the future. I’ll prioritize investments in our city-owned electric utility, sidewalk and bike lane enhancements, and necessary upgrades for a more resilient water supply regardless of flow in the Russian River.
Everyone deserves a place to live. With numerous affordable housing projects nearing completion, Healdsburg must focus on moderate and middle income housing for families, service workers, and the businesses that rely on them. I’ll advocate for measured housing development that aligns with citywide design guidelines to thoughtfully increase density where most appropriate.
Our small business community is the lifeblood of Healdsburg, providing the jobs and services we need and enjoy and the tax revenue for critical infrastructure. I’ll lead honest conversations about opportunities for economic development and the resources needed to keep people employed with dignity.
Our senior community is growing and deserves to age with dignity, connection, and compassion. I’m proud to support services like DASH that provide free transportation for seniors and resources like “When-The-Time-Comes” that help families navigate end-of-life decisions for their aging loved ones.
Our parks, trails, and open space bring neighborhoods together and contribute to our quality of life. I’ll support continued environmental stewardship along the Russian River, Fitch Mountain, Foss Creek, and the Healdsburg Open Space Preserve to maintain balance between our built environment and natural lands.
Everyone needs a place to play and connect regardless of age, ability, and background. I’m thrilled to support plans for our first all-inclusive playground at Badger Park, renovations at the Boys & Girls Club, and continued investment at other community gathering places like Memorial Beach and the Healdsburg Golf Club at Tayman Park.
Healdsburg’s farmers feed the community and are the stewards of our agricultural heritage. I’ll support opportunities for residents to connect with our farms, strengthen the local food economy, and ensure agriculture remains a vibrant part of our future alongside producers like Preston, Bernier, Tookey, Treehouse, Front Porch, Noble Goat, and Russian River Organics.
Our local arts community contributes to Healdsburg’s identity, quality of life, and economic vitality. From the Healdsburg Jazz Festival to our Museum and Historical Society, I’m proud to support public, private, and non-profit opportunities for residents to engage with creative programs and find joy in the arts.
